💫 Why I Stopped Hiding my "Failures"

The Embodied Edge

A client once told me she was fascinated by how openly I talk about my failures.

That wasn’t always me. As a recovering Type-A perfectionist, I used to hide anything that looked like a mistake.

The moment that really hit home was after my first baby. We were living with my in-laws while our house was being built, and I felt uncomfortably exposed as I fumbled my way through the lessons of new motherhood.

Fast forward to now: I've shared publicly about a bad investment I made. Yes, it was embarrassing. But it was also healing to show I'm bigger than what happens to me.

I share because many women say they want to live up to their Highest Potential, but have a skewed idea of what that means.

Most think it's something like a career goal or money target. But in reality, your Highest Potential is living as freely and authentically as possible - without letting fear call the shots.

You step into it every time you face, and reframe, your fears.

One of the biggest fears I see holding ambitious women back is "what if I fail?"

It's so pervasive, it keeps brilliant women taking small, safe action instead of the bold ones that actually move the needle.

I'm a hard pass on that.

Your ambition exists for a reason. It's meant to be your fuel for your purpose, power, and embodiment in the world.

My clients have big purposes, so this fear naturally comes up. I love helping them see it differently. Through my guidance, they walk away feeling less afraid of what happens to them, and more willing to move forward with confidence.

It’s a topic I usually reserve for clients, but I felt called to make it a standalone workshop.

If your fear of failure is keeping you stuck in a situation you’ve outgrown - or making you choose safe over right - this is your invitation to join me for Failure Is Good for the Soul.

Together, we’ll reframe failure for good and clear out the inner gunk that’s been keeping you small, so you can move boldly toward what’s calling you.

🎙️ The latest from The Embodied Leader: 50. Who Are You Being When No One is Watching? After debating with myself what the purpose of leadership conferences is - I concluded that conferences play an important role in activating leaders, but they do not create leaders. In my world, powerful leaders are created in how they habitually show up for themselves when no one is watching. Listen here, on Spotify, Apple, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts.

"Andrea was so plugged in to me and my higher self that I always felt safe enough to make big discoveries and big revelations. I wasn't charging enough for my services and she showed me, in many different ways, why that wasn't serving me, and guided me into a self-discovery journey that empowered me to make lasting change with my pricing. This change was made to honor my ancestors and all the sacrifices they made to get me where I am today."

The Embodied Edge I just got back from the Women’s Leadership Conference in Green Bay, WI. It was a few incredible days of connecting, growing, and learning. As it wrapped up, I looked around the room and realized something: a conference - no matter how inspired you feel when you leave - isn’t what creates a leader. Leaders get activated in powerful rooms, yes. But they get created after they leave. Leaders aren’t made in grand moments. They’re forged in the in-between: How they respond after...

The Embodied Edge Earlier this summer, I helped a former client celebrate the grand opening of her new office. 🍾 We started working together almost a year before. In one of our first Future Self meditations, her guides showed her in a bright, spacious office. She’d completely forgotten about that vision by the time she felt the pull to move. When I saw that detail in her notes, I got chills. Yesterday, I went to a Fire Cider–making event for another former client. 🔥 The same thing happened:...

The Embodied Edge As I navigate my move and divorce, I'm reminded of something that I've come back to over and over: Not everyone will understand. And that's okay. If all humanity operated from our highest, most soulful selves - this (and other big decisions) would be a non-issue. We'd high five and say "cool! I can't wait to see what you learn about yourself trying that out!" However - the human experience has been designed around fear-based belief systems and emotional pain that separate us...
