✉️ Are you settling for holey underwear?

The Embodied Edge

I was getting dressed the other day. I grabbed the pair on top - the one with the big hole on the side.

They were okay enough, so I kept them in rotation.

But as I pulled them on (and my thumb went through the hole), I thought… why am I keeping these?

I have plenty of others. I can afford new underwear.

Why am I settling for holey underwear?

I think a lot about how the clues in our life are doorways into our unconscious.

In this case, me keeping holey underwear is a clue toward what I'm willing to accept for myself.

If I'm willing to accept the holey underwear from the cheapest six pack I could find… in what other areas of my life am I accepting less?

This week, I treated myself to some new underwear. No holes, and a much higher quality fabric (because my lady bits and I deserve it!)

How does this tie to embodiment? ❔ I'm glad you asked!

When we accept less, that plays out in our energy. The way we talk and move. The decisions we make.

When we decide we deserve better, and upgrade our lives accordingly, we talk, move, and decide from a higher place. 👑

✉️ This week, I invite you to take stock of your underwear.

Are there any pieces that probably should be upgraded? If so, do it.

Then getting dressed becomes a great way to remind you that you deserve amazing things, an energy that you'll then carry into your day.

PS: I love Quince for affordable, higher quality fabrics. If you'd like a $20 off coupon, reply to this email and I'll send you one! (I'd send a link if I could but their referral process requires me to enter your email.)

That's it! I'll be back next Sunday with your next practice!

"My experience with Andrea surpassed my expectations! She took the time to understand where I was at, what I was struggling with, and where I wanted to be. Through our coaching sessions she was able to tap into different thought patterns and beliefs that were holding me back and not allowing me to move forward. She gave me tactical and actionable tools to use as these thought patterns come up so I can move through them. Working with Andrea gave me the confidence to go after the life I want to be living and show up in this world the way I was meant to!" Monica

The Embodied Edge Someone this week asked me to describe my perfect soul clients. I said, “They’re leaders who’ve read the books. They’re incredibly self-aware. They know they have negative thought patterns - they just don’t know what to do about them.” 🍥 One client was taught by a former therapist to tell her negative thoughts to F*** off. 🍥 Others are taught to yell at their saboteur, then take the action they’re avoiding. Those ideas work if your main goal is to push through...

The Embodied Edge The term “playing small” gets thrown around a lot. Conceptually, it makes sense - doing less than the highest you’re capable of. But pinpointing it for yourself is tricky. I like to say it’s when fear gets wrapped in logic. Your excuses sound reasonable… but they’re really fear in disguise. As a Human Design Projector-type, I can easily spot this in others. But it’s much harder to see in myself. Thankfully, I had coffee with someone this week who pointed out not one but two...

The Embodied Edge A client once told me she was fascinated by how openly I talk about my failures. That wasn’t always me. As a recovering Type-A perfectionist, I used to hide anything that looked like a mistake. The moment that really hit home was after my first baby. We were living with my in-laws while our house was being built, and I felt uncomfortably exposed as I fumbled my way through the lessons of new motherhood. Fast forward to now: I've shared publicly about a bad investment I made....
