✉️ Buy yourself some flowers

The Embodied Edge

Happy Mother's Day to you mamas, and mamas-in-spirit!

I used to think buying cut flowers was a waste of money. While I don't splurge all the time, I've bought them a couple times since January to recreate the bright colors that made me happy in Cuba.

Seeing the colors on the table every time I walked by add a pep to my step!

✉️ If you don't receive flowers this week, my invitation to you is to buy yourself a bouquet.

Make this as fun or simple as you want. Our grocery stores have them in the <$15 range, and they're everywhere at Farmer's Markets right now.

But here's the thing: don't just buy them and let them sit. Engage your senses while you have them!

🌺 Take time everyday to look at them - like really look at them. Notice their colors, their textures.

🌺 Smell them. Let their scent linger in your body a little longer than normal.

🌺 When you refill the water, let it be a reset moment. Slow down, take a breath, trim them up. Let it be something you do to treat them nicely, not just another chore to get through quickly.

That's it! I'll be back next Sunday with your next practice!

➡️ How did it go - I'd love to hear! Reply to this email or share & tag me on Instagram or LinkedIn!

PS: I didn't want to make this a separate email, but consider dedicating a notebook or journal to these practices. It's always fun to go back and see what shifts from before and after!

PPS: yes, I did already ditch the It Factor Invitation. The beauty of evolving in public - ha! The Embodied Edge is the same concept, just a different name.

"My experience with Andrea surpassed my expectations! She took the time to understand where I was at, what I was struggling with, and where I wanted to be. Through our coaching sessions she was able to tap into different thought patterns and beliefs that were holding me back and not allowing me to move forward. She gave me tactical and actionable tools to use as these thought patterns come up so I can move through them. Working with Andrea gave me the confidence to go after the life I want to be living and show up in this world the way I was meant to!" Monica

The Embodied Edge I held my second Future Self Mixer a couple days ago. One theme that stood out to me was the difference between how we see ourselves and how we're perceived by others. The ladies that were there were bosses - movers and shakers in the community. Yet many shared how they didn't feel confident in themselves, or still struggled with imposter syndrome - even when it didn't come across to those they met. As their greatness was reflected back to them by the other women, they...

The Embodied Edge The Future Self Mixer is this week! Sometimes, being embodied doesn't mean doing more or newer things. It can mean more fully utilizing what we already have! ✉️ This week, I want you to tune into your senses more fully. Our senses are how we experience the world around us. Yet most of us only half tune in while our focus stays in our brain, spinning on whatever it's worried about. I like this exercise from Eckhart Tolle: use your senses without needing to comment on or label...

The Embodied Edge As a kid, I loved dancing. Yet somewhere along the path to adulthood I stopped doing it so much. Now that I'm being more intentional with how I feel, I'm bringing it back as a way to boost my energy and my mood. Moving your body helps move stagnant energy and make space for more of the feel good stuff to come in. ✉️ If you've hesitated dancing, this week I want you to try it. Just for a song. Just to see how it feels! If you're nervous, wait until you're alone in the house....
